Welcome to another week of Six Sunday. This week we finish the scene between Cammy and Ryan playing ‘keep-away’. Here, having been unable to convince Ryan to drop her shoes, she leaps onto the cool, sidewalk. The six starts after Ryan tells her to give him the watch, and Cammy ponders simply running to her car. Who will give in first?
Here it is, hope you all like:
Still grimacing from the pain, Cammy looked over in the direction where her Beetle was parked – a distance of fifty yards. She knew it would be impossible to run for it without burning her feet even more.
“Alright stud, you win,” she tossed him the watch, which he instantly caught with his free hand.
“Gimmie my damn slippers!”
“What’s your hurry?” he quipped.
“Ryan, quit playin’ around, give ‘em now!”
Ryan immediately tosses them over to her, since he feels she’s suffered enough. I don’t want to show this because I feel the details are not important. Next week, I’ll show snippets from the next chapter.
Visit Six Sunday for more snippets from like-minded authors. Until next time!
Love how he turned it around on her. Great six! 🙂
Thanks, that’s what I thought too.
These two are great characters aren’t they!
The novel couldn’t exist without them!
Cammy and Ryan need a truce. I hope they can get beyond this.
They do make a truce after, but Cammy knows he’s being a goof. Unfortunately, I won’t sharing it since there are other snippets I want to share.
Fun 6, Frank, turn about’s fair play, and all
Well thanks for that, Angela.
It’s all fun and games until someone has burned feet. lol. Cute six!
yes it is, but she had to do it the hard way. Justice is justice.
I gather the sidewalk is in the shade. I feel her pain, but she deserves it.
yes the sidewalk is in the shade. And yes, she does deserve it, since he refused to give the watch back in the first place.
I like these two! I’m glad they’ve given in and returned their things. 🙂
Thanks, and yes it’s nice they get their things back, although Cammy should have given the watch back the easy way, but that’s her character.
He’ a LOT nicer than she is. 🙂 Nicely written too.
yes he is, hence the difference in personalities. Glad you liked it.
Another nice six. I enjoy your writing.
Thanks, and this is my first novel.
I like her weighing the virtues of taking the watch and burning her feet. Good six, Frank. 🙂
Thanks for noticing that.
