It’s Weekend Writing Warriors time. Today I’m continuing from last week’s 8. Ryan has just given Cammy you know what, and now we she how she takes it. This will be the last I share from this scenario and next week will be a whole new chapter. Thanks for all your feedback. Enjoy!
She averted his gaze and stared down at her feet, as she put her hands on her hips. She lifted her chin and Ryan rolled his eyes, unconvinced of her guilty face. Pulling up a chair, she sat down and put up her feet on the chair next to Ryan. “Guess I ain’t used to people lookin’ out for me,” she admitted. “Didn’t know you cared so much.”
“Course I care, Cammy,” he replied, patting her foot. “And so do a lot of other people.”
“Nobody does, Ryan,” she said in a flat voice, as she looked away from him, crossing her arms.

Poor Cammy has some problem to trust people and let them make her feel secure.
She thinks that no one cares about her when really there are people in her life that do care.
So sad for her! I hope Ryan keeps trying to reach out as she obviously needs him. Excellent excerpt, good details.
He does, which turns out to be a nice ending to the scene.
Great snippet, and I’m glad she’s seeing his affection finally. I think I found a typo though. “She averted his gaze and stared down at her feet” should be “She averted her gaze” since she can’t change his. Nicely done, Frank. 🙂
Great voices! I need to go back and read more to catch up on this story
Trust issues came through loud and clear. It will be interesting to see how he breaks down her wall.
History Sleuth’s Milk Carton Murders
Very visual, Frank. Nice dialogue–very real. 🙂 Good eight!
Aww… And now I feel sorry for Cammy. Poor girl.
At this point yes, but wait until you read what else Miguel has to say.
