Cammy Stands Up to Ryan’s Brother

It’s Weekend Writing Warriors again. I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July/Canada Day, or a great week in general. I’m sharing another eight, which comes from the scene I shared the last week. Not appreciating her response, Miguel proceeds to ask Cammy a series of questions which irritates Ryan. Cammy, on the other hand, remains unnerved.

“You’re not gonna bring Ryan down,” Miguel declared. “Tell me the truth kid, what are-”

“My name’s not kid, Miguel.”

“Excuse me?”

“Ryan told ya my name, so use it.”

“You listen to me, don’t-”

“I never listened to my dad, so what fuckin’ chance you got? You wanna talk to me, do it like a real man, not like some macho dick.”

Cammy has got lots of cojones, no? I couldn’t believe I wrote this way back when. I always love to see your comments. I’m going to be busy for the rest of the month, so I’ll be on hiatus from WWW until at least August. I look forward to reading your snippets. 1. One part of my enjoy the confrontation. Another part wonder what Cammy is actually doing with those people, what is she actually looking for,

  2. Cammy is a hard nut to crack! Bags of attitude in this eight.

Great snippet! Made me laugh out loud at the end!

  6. Cammy has her rough edges but she comes across as such a real person, starting to feel like I know her. Terrific snippet!

She’s got a pretty big chip on her shoulder. Good for her!

  8. The girl’s spunky. nice 8.

  9. The question is, will he listen?

  10. She’s rude, but she has a point. Her name isn’t ‘kid.’ I always hated it when adults talked down to me when I was a teen.

I love her response to his macho bullying. Nicely done, Frank.

  12. You go Cammy! Girl definitely has some brass ones, that’s for sure.
