Why I Love It: By far one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to! The pyramids, temples, shisha (hookah). Despite the security situation, I didn’t feel unsafe there at all. If you travel with a tour, the tour is registered with the authorities, which means they know where you are at all times. This also means they can send private security and escorts with you while you travel. And Egyptians are super friendly! They don’t speak for the terrorists, and they actually want tourists to visit their country.

When to Go: October through January IMHO. The weather is cooler, which means no mosquitoes and pleasant sightseeing conditions. Also a great time to come especially if you plan on riding a felucca on the Nile. The only downside is that is this the height of tourist season.

Where to Go: Start in Cairo, then head down to the Valley of the Kings until you reach Luxor. From there, travel to Aswan where you can do day trip to Philae and Abu Simbel. Diving enthusiasts should also visit Hurghada.

How Long Should You Stay: A week to ten days is sufficient to cover the places suggested above.
